On This Day In Club Penguin History – March 8

Updates on the 8th of March have occurred in both 2011 and 2012. There were many updates both of those years, most being puffle related.

The first update in 2011 was noticed when logging in, as there were four new puffle themed login screens. The login screens advertised the pink, green, black, and yellow puffles, each one saying “Adopt your perfect pet today”.

The second update in 2011 was the launch of the puffle interaction features we have today. When you click your puffle a thing of buttons pops up with different options. Previously puffles had a playercard just like penguins, and on that playercard were buttons to bathe your puffle, walk your puffle, etc. Puffle hats were not a part of the puffle interaction interface when it was launched, as they were not a thing until late 2011.

The final updates on this day in 2011 was the Pet Shop being remodelled to what it currently looks like and the Puffle Furniture catalogue being updated with new items such as puffle food. The puffle adoption system was also revamped. Previously it was a catalogue and you would select which puffle colour you wanted to adopt.

As for 2012, on this day that year the construction for that month’s big event, the Puffle Party, began. Crates of decorations were placed at the Iceberg, Mountain, Cove, Forest, Pool, Dance Club, Dance Lounge, Lighthouse, and Lighthouse Beacon.

An updated furniture catalogue for the month of March was also released. The main theme of the new items was, of course, puffles.

Also on this day in 2011 the Cheese Pin was hidden o the island. It was located in the Boiler Room. The Cheese Pin is Club Penguin’s 198th pin overall and is the eleventh pin to have been hidden at the Boiler Room.

Also on the 8th of March in 2012 the 72nd field op mission was released at the Mountain, the Puffle Furniture catalogue was updated with a few new food and hat items, and the fan art in the Book Room was also updated.

In addition to all of that, the Puffle Launch app for iOS was updated to version 1.3 with 12 new levels and also some bug fixes. Finally, a new issue of the Club Penguin magazine was released in the United Kingdom. This was the magazine’s second issue.
