On This Day In Club Penguin History – May 21

On the 21st of May there has been updates in 2009, 2010, and 2015. In 2009 Rockhopper arrived for another visit and a new pin was hidden on the island. In 2010 a new pin was hidden, too. As for 2015, the Fair began on computers and the Rainbow Puffle Party began on mobile. Rookie was waddling around for the Fair and Aunt Arctic began waddling around for the next week to celebrate 500 issues of the Club Penguin Times. Other updates such as a new pin, a new login screen, and more also took place.

When Rockhopper arrived at the Club Penguin island on this day in 2009 his whole ship was covered in a large variety of trees and plants. His rare items catalogue was even plant related. All players could collect the Overgrown Ship Background from it and members could buy three different potted plants to display their igloos.

The pin hidden on this day in 2009 was the Ice Cream Sundae. It is Club Penguin’s 90th pin overall and is the fifth pin to be hidden at the Pizza Parlour.

Jumping ahead one year, on this day in 2010 a new pin was also hidden on the island. The Cream Soda Barrel Pin could be found at the Book Room. The Cream Soda Barrel Pin is Club Penguin’s 124th pin overall and is the seventh pin to be hidden in that room.

2015, on the other hand, had a lot of updates. The biggest updates on this day in 2015 were two parties beginning, the Fair on the computer and the Rainbow Puffle Party on mobile. Ever since Club Penguin began doing parties on both their mobile app and the computer version of Club Penguin, they were sacrificing the quality and content at them so it would work completely on mobile devices. In order to not make such a sacrifice for the Fair, the team decided to have a separate smaller party, the Rainbow Puffle Party, on mobile while the Fair went on.

The May 2015 Fair was the eighth fair Club Penguin has held. Rookie was waddling around for this event. The Fair and Rainbow Puffle Parties were both extended, the Fair by one week and the Rainbow Puffle Party by two weeks. This was because players wanted them extended and also because some had trouble logging on to the game.

At the Fair you could play special games and also participate in the daily spin. These activities would get you tickets, which you could redeem for prizes at the prize booth. A new medieval section was added to the Amazement Park for this event, called Ye Olde Castle. Members could transform into a Werewolf, Crab, Ultimate Mega Dragon, or Robo at this party, too. Club Penguin had also added a new login screen advertising this party.

Rookie was the only mascot waddling around for the Fair, however on this day in 2015 Aunt Arctic was waddling around the island too. Her reasons for waddling around were a bit different, however. She was waddling around to celebrate 500 issues of the Club Penguin Times.

As for the Rainbow Puffle Party, during this event all players could adopt Rainbow Puffles and not just members. Five free items were available at the party, three for all players and two for members. The Town, Snow Forts, and Plaza were decorated to be in the clouds, as that’s where the rainbow puffles reside. The rooms also had plenty of rainbows in them.

Another update on this day in 2015 was a new pin being hidden. The pin was the Issue 500 pin. This pin is Club Penguin’s 321st pin overall and is the fifteenth pin to be hidden at the Book Room.

The final update on this day in 2015 was Club Penguin updating their mobile application to version 1.6.6. In addition to having improved support for the Rainbow Puffle Party, it also had a new main page, which unfortunately removed the Sushi Drop game.
