On This Day In Club Penguin History – April 22

On the 22nd of April Club Penguin has updated in 2010, 2011, and 2014. Also, in 2015, there was some very important news posted on the Club Penguin Blog. In 2010 the Earth Day Party began and the now non-existent Recycling Center room made its debut. A new pin was hidden, too. In 2011 that year’s Earth Day Party and Easter Egg Scavenger Hunt began, Rockhopper arrived for a visit, and a new pin was hidden. In 2014 new items were available at the Puffle Party.

On April 22 2010 the first Earth Day Party was released on Club Penguin. The Recycling Center was also released and the Community Tree was added to the Mine Shack. At the Mine Shack penguins could pick up a free Straw Gardening Hat.

As you can see, the Mine Shack has changed a lot since then! At the 2010 Earth Day Party there was also a scavenger hunt for players to participate in. The prize was the Recycle Pin.

Speaking of pins, a new pin was hidden on the island, too. It was the Leaf Pin and could be found at the the Ski Hill. This pin is Club Penguins’ 120th pin overall and is the fourth pin to be hidden at the Ski Hill.

A year later, in 2011, Club Penguin also had some updates. Just like in 2010 the Earth Day Party began and there was also a scavenger hunt, except this time it was an Easter Egg scavenger hunt. The prize was the Safari Park Background. At the Earth Day Party the Go Green and Tree Mob stamps were released.

Also in 2011 there was a new pin and Rockhopper arrived. The pin was the Savanna Tree Pin and could be found in the Ski Lodge, now known as the Puffle Lodge. It was the sixth pin to be hidden in that room and is Club Penguin’s 159th pin overall. Rockhopper’s visit in April 2011 was his first of the year. His free item for all players was the Island Grove Background. His catalogue contained four furniture items for members. There was the Hanging Moss, the Mossy Log, the Boiling Cauldron, and the Island Trinkets, which was hidden.

In 2014, two new items were available at the Puffle Party. If players went to the Snow Forts they could collect the Ball of Yarn hand item, and, if they were a member, the Scratching Post Costume.

As for 2015, while not an in-game updated, it was announced the the Club Penguin staff member Polo Field, who regularly posted on the blog and appeared in Club Penguin’s videos, no longer worked for the game. Earlier that week Club Penguin laid off some employees so it is highly suspected that Polo Field was one of the laid off staff members. Here’s the blog post Megg wrote about Polo Field’s departure:

  1. I just had a random thought about that Project Super Secret and what if its out on console. That sounds mad but imagine club penguin on the PS4 xD. That would be cool
