On This Day In Club Penguin History – March 6
Updates on the 6th of March have happened in 2009 and 2014. In 2009 there were preparations for the St. Patrick’s Day Party, the white puffle could now be adopted, and a new edition of the Penguin Style was released. In 2014 there was the Russian Welcome event, a new edition of the Penguin Style, and more.
In 2009, to prepare for the upcoming St. Patrick’s Day Party, green crates and buckets of green paint were placed in a few rooms around the island, specifically the Ski Village, Cove, and Forest. A tree stump was also added to the Forest, as pictured below.
Also on this day in 2009 members could now adopt the White Puffle. At the time it cost 800 coins each, however that price has since been halved.
The third and final update in 2009 was a new edition of the being released. In it there were a few St. Patrick’s Day outfits as well as some outfits for superstars to wear at the upcoming and first ever Penguin Play Awards.
On the 6th of March in 2014 Club Penguin released their Russian Welcome Event, a small one week long mini party. The Stadium’s ice rink was decorated in celebration of the newly launched Russian version of Club Penguin, which was released a month prior the 6th of February. All players could pick up a free Welcome Hat. The Russian version of Club Penguin lasted a little over a year and a half.
Also on this day in 2014 Club Penguin released a new design for the EPF Command Room, the one you currently see in-game.
The Penguin Style was also updated. It featured Muppet-themed items, as that was going to be the month’s big event.
There was also a new pin hidden on the island, the Lion Statue Pin. The Lion Statue Pin is Club Penguin’s 272nd pin overall and is the seventh pin to have been hidden at the Mine Shack.
Club Penguin also had a few minor updates in 2014. The featured postcards were updated, re-adding the Your Biggest Fan, Wanna Join My Band?, You’re Funny, and Actors Needed postcards. Also, a login and logoff screen advertising the upcoming Muppets World Tour Party was added. The same advertisement was also added as a slide on Club Penguin’s homepage. Also, the 18th issue of their magazine was now available for sale in the United Kingdom.
