On This Day In Club Penguin History – November 17

By / November 24, 2015

On the 17th of November Club Penguin has updated in 2006, 2008, and 2011. In 2006 there was a new furniture catalogue, the Dojo had its grand re-opening in 2008, and in 2011 there was a new field op, a new pin, preparations for the Card-Jitsu Party, and a Puffle Launch app for iOS related updated.

In 2006 there was a new furniture catalogue. Unfortunately I don’t recall what the new furniture was since it was so long ago and this is the only image I have of it:

Moving on to 2008, the big update that year was the grand re-opening of the Dojo. Digging snow out of the Dojo Courtyard was now complete and you could now see the new room in its entirety. Penguins could now become ninjas for the first time ever. In fact, Club Penguin broke some records in amount of penguins online when Card-Jitsu was released. Penguins can play Card-Jitsu until they earn their Black Belt and then beat Sensei to obtain the Ninja Mask. The Dojo Hideout was also released on this day, although this room no longer exists.

In 2011 there was a new field op mission as well as several other updates. The field op released on this day that year was the 55th one. The location of this one was at the bottom right corner of the Cove, in the water next to the Catchin’ Waves Game Upgrades Catalogue. The mini-game to complete the field op was matching symbols before time ran out.

Another update in 2011 was preparations for the upcoming Card-Jitsu Party beginning, as the party was set to begin the following week. There was also a new pin, the Blue Fish Pin. This pin is Club Penguin’s 185th pin overall and is the fifth pin to have been hidden at the Snow Forts.

Although not an in-game update, it is also worth noting that a lite (free) version of Puffle Launch for iOS was released on the iTunes App Store on this day in 2011. In addition to this, the paid version (99 cents) of Puffle Launch was updated to version 1.1 and featured bug fixes and also some new levels. This app is no longer available.
