Spike Hike Talks About The Future Party That Never Happened
If you watched this week’s #Waddle on episode then you saw the Future Dome and got curious about that room. Not only that, but it matches the future dome I mentioned in a post in 2012. Not much is known about the Future Dome aside from what it looks like…until now! Spike Hike has left a comment on the post giving us a behind the scenes look of what Club Penguin originally planned to do with the whole future concept. Here’s what he said:
A little backstory on the Future Dome….last year there was a plan to migrate CP to a new technology and we created the concept of the Future Dome as a way to preview all the new things the technology would bring. It would have shown the 3D penguin, the new rooms, and the ability to jump to friend. However, we found out the new tech wasn’t ready and so we decided to prove it out on mobile instead of changing the web.
We also had this cool idea for a commercial that never got made. Kinda of a spoof on Back To The Future. Gary would come back through time in the Time Trekker and jump out and say “Gadzook!! I just got back from the future! You won’t believe what they have there – we’re all in 3D!!” Rockhopper, Aunt Arctic, and Jet Pack Guy would all say “I want to see!” And jump in the Time Trekker. Just as they do Rookie would say “But Mr G, you almost forgot your computer!” And then G would say: “Computer? Where we’re going, we don’t NEED computers.” The Time Trekker would levitate up, the screen would pull back, and you would see that they were all on an iPad. We were going to try to license the Back To The Future music too. But Disney doesn’t own Back To the Future so it was too complicated. It was nonetheless, a cool idea.
So the Future Party never happened but all that stuff has been worked on and is being rolled out. But if people want a Future Party…

Spike if u read this please consider, disney owns disney world and disney land so why not make a disney parks party ride around on the rides and tommorowland a part of the magic kindom could be a room and the future dome could appear there.who knos mabe a certain mouse and duck will be mascots at the party wink wink thanks if u read this

I like new parties with cool ideas but I think that this party will be too much. Jumping into Time Trakker and walking as a 3D penguin only at the party? I don’t think it will be interesting for longer than day or two. I definitly more prefer traditional, normal parties ;)

It’s not really an ad party.
The back to the future part wasn’t to advertise it, hence they didn’t get permission to use the music, but rather as a spoof video for fun.
Does that red machine off at the Dance Lounge will take us into the future?

How is he getting ideas from other places? The team always gets ideas from their players, they’re a huge part of what makes the game the way it is.

wow!!! walking in the future all 3D!!! lov it!!!, the 16 botes againist the party for thinking is at takeover??? i respect ur opinions but , but what is wrong with u? i will never understand why they care that disney or most likely the same CP sponsors companies, tell me do u see any ad with “watch MU” “watch marvel” in the takeovers? as trainmain said calling it unoriginal is like calling the halloween party unoriginal, also it is no a takeover, but i would love this to happen

Well, it wouldn’t be a takeover since Phil of the Future is done, and they don’t play the show on Disney Channel anymore. I think what would be fun is a Future Party in January with flying cars, very modern looking places, weird future inventions…. A HA! I JUST THOUGHT OF SOMETHING! :P Disney I think/Walt Disney/Pixar owns ”Meet the Robinsons”! The boy goes to the future or whatever, blah blah blah. To sum it all up, CP could do a Meet the Robinsons takeover :P
How about… A CLUB PENGUIN TAKEOVER! A takeover which is a Club Penguin party/takeover of CP!
