On This Day In Club Penguin History – November 21

By / November 28, 2015

On the 21st of November Club Penguin has updated in 2008 and 2013. In 2008 Card-Jitsu was released, a new pin was hidden, a new furniture catalogue was released, and the play at the Stage was updated. In 2013 Operation Puffle began and the Puffle Hotel received some minor updates. In 2014 the next part of the Pirate Party was now available and Club Penguin announced that their Android app would be available the following month.

Back in 2008 the original Card-Jitsu game was released at the Dojo! Penguins could now work hard to become a ninja, which is done by earning their belts and defeating Sensei to get the Ninja Mask. Ninjas could access the exclusive Ninja Hideout once they had their mask, a room that no longer exists.

There was also a new pin hidden on this day in 2008, the Snowflake Tile. It was hidden at the Beach to the left of the Lighthouse door. The Snowflake Tile Pin is Club Penguin’s 77th pin overall and the second pin to be hidden at the Beach.

Another update in 2008 was the Better Igloos furniture catalogue. It was updated for the month and featured some lovely holiday themed items for members to purchase and decorate their igloo with. Check out the awesome cover:

The final update in 2008 was the launch of a brand new stage play, Fairy Fables. This play features the characters Twee, Prince Redhood, Big Bad Wool, and Grumpunzel. Fairy Fables was at the Stage a grand total of eight times.

Moving away from 2008 and jumping ahead to 2013, on this day that year there was a huge update: Operation Puffle! It was the sequel to Operation Blackout, which was a huge Elite Penguin Force operation in November 2012. Operation Puffle was launched in response to Herbert capturing puffles and controlling their minds, using them to dig coins and take them to an unknown location. Each day you had to play a mini game to chase down puffles and remove their brain boxes to collect a color chip. You would earn coins as well as items from the mini-game. In the end Herbert’s plan was foiled. It’s also worth mentioning that the entire island turned to night for this event.

There was also a few minor updates at the Puffle Hotel in 2013. In the lobby Club Penguin removed the puffle hats on the right side of the room and added beds in its spot. The food area on the right side of the room was changed into a miniature restaurant. At the spa the chairs were changed and a ball was added to the platforms in the top left of the room. Finally, on the roof, Club Penguin added a comb in the pool and a ball behind the DJ booth.

In 2014 there was one in-game update and also a some noteworthy news posted on Club Penguin’s Blog. You could now battle the crab at the Dock during the Pirate Party, as each day another one unlocked. As for the post on Club Penguin’s Blog, Polo Field announced that their heavily anticipated Android app was going to be released in June!

Here’s the plan. We’re starting with the main Club Penguin app on Android first. The app will have ALL of these amazing CP mini-games included:

* Sushi Drop
* Ice Fishing
* Bean Counters
* Smoothie Smash
* Pufflescape
* Puffle Rescue
* Jetpack Boost
* Pizzatron 3000
* Puffle Roundup

Of course, you’ll also be able to change your penguin’s outfit, decorate your igloo, and chat with friends around the world. This is a HUGE app, and we’re so excited to share it with you!

Once this main Club Penguin app is out, we plan to bring as much of the Club Penguin experience to Android as possible. We’ll be working on other CP apps for Android in 2015. :)
