On This Day In Club Penguin History – April 25

On the 25th of April Club Penguin has updated in 2008 and 2013. In 2008 Rockhopper and Yarr arrived, the sports catalogue was updated, and a new pin was hidden. In 2013 the Marvel Superhero Takeover began and along with that Aunt Arctic waddled around the island. Also, an option to mute all sounds was added to the game.

On this day in 2008 the Pirate Party, also known as Rockhopper’s and Yarr’s Arrival Party, began. A month or two before this party Rockhopper’s ship had sank, as it was hit by an iceberg. Penguins decided to rebuild Rockhopper’s ship, collecting the pieces from the ocean through a new game that was released, Aqua Grabber. This party was to celebrate the completion of fixing the Migrator. Rockhopper arrived on the island when the party began, which is why it’s also called the Rockhopper Arrival Party. Since The Migrator was being fixed he rode a small boat with a motor attached to it. The free items at the party were the Sailor Hat, located at the Plaza and returning from the 2007 Pirate Party, and the Black and Red Sailor Shirt, located at the Beach. At this party is when Rockhopper opened the Captain’s Quarters room to the public.

Another update in 2008 was the sports catalogue being updated. This was its second update of 2008. The new items in the catalogue were baseball related, such as the Blue Baseball Uniform and the Red Baseball Uniform.

The final update in 2008 was a new pin. The Treasure Chest Pin, Club Penguin’s 59th pin, was hidden at the Ski Village. The pin was buried under an X so players had to click on the shovel to dig the pin out. This was the third pin to be hidden at the Ski Village.

Moving onward to 2013, on this day the Marvel Superhero Takeover began. This was Club Penguin’s second Marvel party. There were many items for players to collect. A special Superhero Bounce game was added for the party, too. Also, Aunt Arctic was waddling around.

Also in 2013 Club Penguin added a new option to mute all sounds in game, not just room music.

  1. The Marvel Super Hero Takeover was my favorite party of 2013. Although I dislike the idea of having takeovers/sponsored parties, I actually enjoyed some like this one and honestly, I am disappointed how CP seems to not host another MSHT this year specially for The Avengers 2: Age of Ultron movie but I am even more disappointed how come they didn’t bring the MSHT back, but they did with Frozen whose purpose is to promote a 7 minute film.

I guess many people seemed to have enjoyed more the Frozen Party than the Marvel Super Hero Takeover, but still, I’d really like to experience another MSHT again…
