On This Day In Club Penguin History – December 20

On the 20th of December there have been three years containing updates. They are 2005, 2010, 2012, and 2013.

In 2005 there was only a single update. That update was you could now access igloos from the map on Club Penguin! There was now the igloo icon that you could click on and view a list of open igloos on that server.

In 2010 there were three updates. A special limited time postcard you could send to your buddies was released. The postcard contained a free item. That item was the Holiday Toque. The second update was the Ice Rink returned. As a result the sports catalogue was also updated with hockey and ice skating related items, which was the third and final update in 2010.

In 2012 there were three updates. The Holiday Party began and so did Coins For Change, so along with that Rockhopper arrived at Club Penguin. The Holiday Party had two free items. There was the Reindeer Antlers for all players and members could get the present sack by delivering gifts around the island by riding Santa’s sleigh. There was also a hidden room at the party, called the ??? room.

At Coins For Change you could earn two stamps: one for donating, and one for donating 5,000 coins. For Coins For Change Rockhopper brought the Globe Hat item for everyone and all players could also purchase a Coins For Change background for 60 coins. Members could buy three T-Shirts from his catalogue, too: Build Safe Places, Protect The Earth, and Provide Medical Help. Those three topics were the causes Coins For Change was donating to that year. Members could also buy the Coins For Change Banner furniture item for 100 coins each.

Finally, in 2013 Club Penguin added new rooms to their mobile iOS app. Penguins could now go to the Dock, Beach, Lighthouse, and Snow Forts on their iPad.

  1. “Finally, in 2013 Cub Penguin added new rooms to their mobile iOS app.”
Should have been Club Penguin instead of Cub Penguin.
