On This Day In Club Penguin History – June 4
Updates on the 4th of June have happened in 2007, 2010, and 2015. In 2007 the Catchin’ Waves game was released, in 2010 a new pin was hidden and the Penguin Style was updated for the month, and in 2015 the Stage was replaced by the Puffle Berry Mall, the Penguin Style was updated for the month, a new edition of the furniture & igloo catalogue was released, and the igloo music selection was changed.
After the discovery of the Forest and Cove in May 2007, Catchin’ Waves was released on the 4th of June. When it was first released it did not have the survival mode. Instead, it was added at the end of the month, June 29th to be exact. Here is what Billybob posted on the Club Penguin Blog to announce the launch of the new game:
Hello Penguins!
Hopefully most of you have had a chance to play the surfing game and we would love to know what you think! As usual, this idea came directly from you so thank you for the great idea and keep them coming!
Don’t forget, this Friday is the beginning of the Summer Party that will be celebrated by everyone all across Club Penguin. For those of you who were at last years party, you’ll remember it was one of the best! This party is also huge because we have several free items that will be given away throughout the week so make sure you tell your friends and keep checking in as the party continues!
In other news: To celebrate the new game and the big party, we launched some brand new items in the “Fun Stuff” part of the website. Click here to check them out!
Until then… Waddle on!

As for 2010, on this day a new pin was hidden on the island, specifically the Seashell Pin. It could be found at the Iceberg. This was the fourth pin to be hidden in that room and it is Club Penguin’s 125th pin overall.
The other update in 2010 was the Penguin Style catalogue being updated for June. The new catalogue featured a few new pages of adventure and summer themed items.
The most major change on this day in 2015 was the Stage being replaced by the Puffle Berry Mall. The Stage was originally released in November 2007, but over time its popularity declined, likely in part because Club Penguin was simply recycling the same plays over and over again.
Also on this day in 2015 Club Penguin updated their clothing catalogue and also the furniture & igloo catalogue. The clothing catalogue contained summer theme items. In one of the pages there was also a folder labelled top secret, with a note from the Directory saying “Rookie, do not lose this”. Inside the folder it said members can get classic spy gear starting June 11th.
As for the furniture & igloo catalogue, it contained the brand new Stage Igloo, costing 1,500 coins. The new furniture was all stage related. To go along with the new furniture Club Penguin updated their igloo music selection, too.
