On This Day In Club Penguin History – January 5

On the 5th of January Club Penguin has updated in 2006. 2007, and 2012. Updates range from a new clothing catalogue to a new pin to Coins For Change results.

On the 5th of January in 2006 the new clothing catalogue for the month was released. Not much is known about it, however I do know that the Pink Hoodie made its first appearance in this catalogue, as it was featured on the cover. Items such as the Night Vision Goggles, Red Cape, and Pink Earmuffs were also available in this catalogue.

In 2007 there was a new clothing catalogue and also a new pin was hidden on the island. The January 2007 Penguin Style featured new items such as the Red Turtleneck Sweater, Earflap Vest, Matador Outfit, Festive Sombrero, and Black Cowboy Hat.

As for the new pin, it was the Apple Pin and it was hidden at the Pizza Parlour. This is Club Penguin’s 23rd pin overall and is the second pin to be hidden at the Pizza Parlour.

The final year with updates on the 5th of January is 2012. Just like in 2006 and 2007 a new clothing catalogue was released. The theme the new items were beach-wear and scuba diving, plus the catalogue also contained a few new casual outfits.

Another update on the 5th of January in 2012 was the Coins For Change 2011 results being posted at the Beach. During Coins For Change 2011 players donated a total of 10.8 billion coins. Club Penguin’s Coins For Change login screen was updated to say that the results were posted. A video about Coins For Change was also posted to Club Penguin’s homepage.

The final two updates in 2012 were a new field op and a new treasure book. The field op was the 63rd one. You had to go to the Beach, specifically the right side of the Lighthouse. Once you were there your spy phone would ring so you could complete the mission by breaking the code, which was done by scanning symbols to find the correct combination. As for the treasure book, it was Club Penguin’s 15th one. Four new pages of exclusive new items were added.
