On This Day In Club Penguin History – November 18

Updates on the 18th of November have occurred in 2005 and 2010. In 2005 Sled Racing got a big update, some bugs were fixed, and the 10 minute inactivity auto-disconnect feature was added to the game. In 2010 there was a new field op.

Here is the post Billybob published on the Club Penguin Blog back in 2005 about the day’s updates:

Hello Penguins!

We have officially launched our first expansion to Sled Racing! Sure it was always one of the best games in Club Penguin, but we decided to make it even better!

Now there are 4 races, each with different difficulty levels and with a different number of players so you can race against lots of other penguins, or just race your buddy for fun.

In other news: We also have fixed a couple more bugs and we launched the auto-disconnect feature. Basically, this tool will disconnect you from Club Penguin if you haven’t done anything for more than 10 min. This way if you run out of your house and forget to disconnect from Club Penguin, don’t worry, we will do it for you. :)

That’s all for now, as always…

11:11? Make a wish! :P

In 2010 there was a new field op. The mission was located at the Everyday Phoning Facility and the mini-game was to match your data with the firewall so you could break through. This was Club Penguin’s 23rd field op overall.
