On This Day In Club Penguin History – October 19
On the 19th of October Club Penguin has only updated in 2007. Three updates took place. The amount of coins you earned in a couple games was doubled, new furniture and igloo catalogues were released, and that year’s Halloween igloo decorating contest began.
Up until this day in 2007 the amount of coins you earned from the Ice Fishing and Puffle Roundup games was half of what it is now. On this day in that year the amount of coins you earned from these two games were doubled. For example, if you played Puffle Roundup today and earned 1,000 coins at the end, prior to this update you would have only earned 500.
There was a new furniture catalogue with Halloween themed items.
There was also a new igloo catalogue released with the brand new Jack O’ Lantern Igloo.
Alongside the igloo updates was a Halloween igloo decorating contest. Members could decorate their igloo with a Halloween theme, submit it to Club Penguin for judging, and if they won it would be featured in the Club Penguin Times and a large sum of coins would be added to their account.
Billybob made a post on the Club Penguin Blog about these updates, saying the following:
Hello Penguins!
I wanted to remind you that the new igloo stuff was launched today and as always, we would love to know what you think! Now you can know what it would feel like to live inside of a pumpkin! Just don’t lean on the walls, they are a little slimy. :)
In other news: Next week we’re having two parties! The first is a one-day party celebrating Club Penguin’s birthday on Oct. 24th, the other is the Halloween Party which starts next weekend. There will be free items at both events so you won’t want to miss them! We also have something different planned for this year’s Halloween party that I think will be a lot of fun. Sorry, but it will have to be a surprise…
Until then… Waddle on!
