Paint By Letters Is Gone….For Good

It was pointed out to me on Thursday that Paint By Letters was removed from the Bookshelf, and that is indeed true. I wasn’t sure why this happened, so I emailed Club Penguin about it. Here is their response:

The Paint By Letters books were removed from our website because they weren’t being used. This means that by removing them we are able to bring new more exciting things to Club Penguin.

There you have it, the official wording from Club Penguin Support. Paint By Letters is gone, possibly forever. (unless they decide to reintroduce it in the future)

On Twitter there appears to be mixed reactions about it – some said they did not play the game much, but others were sad it was gone due to the fact it was how they learnt to type. I’m curious – what’s your opinion?

What is your opinion about Club Penguin removing Paint By Letters?

  1. I suppose it’s not a huge deal, but it’s kinda true that nobody really played it. I mean, I only played it a handful of times in my entire time playing Club Penguin (2 years). But I will kinda miss it :(

  2. Lol thats what we used in typing class this year. I wonder what we will use next year? Im okay with it but it was teaching my little sister how to type.

  3. Honestly, when I played it, was a very good typing game. Not being played much is probably because no one really knows about them existing until they actually check out the books in the Book room. Paint By letters wasn’t on the Map even if you selected games from what I remember.

I loved the game, but didn’t really play it because I didn’t find it efficient in earning coins (There are other games that pay better for less effort). Sad to see these book games removed, they were hilarious, I will never forget the penguin in the lighthouse banging his flippers on the keyboard randomly, and the Hula dance at the end with your friends in robot suits lol.

LOL xD Sound like you will quit Cp in any second :D

  4. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!! I used that game to have enough coins for buying a puffle, I’m not happy about this removal.
    :( :( :(

  5. That is why we go to school to learn that so why is everyone making such a big deal about it, and the party? Its relating the the modern world.. Saraapril is the biggest influence I know on CP

  6. paint by letters was never seen just because no reads the books in the book room if there we seeable much more people would have played it

  7. You know, I’m a fast typer, and this game was the a very good game to earn coins for me. I barely put any effort into it because all you did was type. I even memorized most of it. When I joined CP 4 years ago, that was one of the first games I played (the other was Puffle Roundup, which I sucked at then, but am very good at now) and I enjoyed it. It made me laugh. Now I think I’ll have to stick to Puffle Roundup and Cart Surfer.

  8. Oh yeah, something else…I think I am into CP’s files, but I have them in a weird language…is that supposed to be like that?

  9. I was going to play them today and wondered what had happened to them. I had found some cheats for it and wanted to use them but now I cant :-(

  10. It was the only way I earned coins I am probbally going to quit for the second time because CP is no fun without coins :-( :-(

  11. well on the bright side ,we have harder challenges to earn our money from now. I personally am going to get a job at the pizza parlor (pizzatron) ,players werent using them because of them being too time-consuming and in two words EXTREMELY EASY in one SELLOUT but thats just my opinion. Alththough i liked them somewhat ,i must admit i felt disappointed the first time i played paint by letters as they were simply too easy and in a way probably losing money for cp. I’m glad their gone in a way ,although i did vote i wish they kept them. Because my cousin loved them and she would hate me if i didnt vote that way (plus my computer saves EVERYTHING

P.S. This comment will now self destruct 5… 4… 3… better run! 2… almost there 1! were doom-KABOOM

  13. Well that is bunk! That was the quickest way to earn 800 coins really fast. I also liked finding the hidden coins. :/ Its not like any of those other books are being used either!

    • I know right?
I was talking to my dad and told him about the game and that’s how I learned to type.
      Sad :'(

  14. I used to use Paint by Letters when I wasn’t too great at playing Cart Surfer, I’m going to miss those books… :'(

  15. THAT’S NOT FAIR! I ADORE THOSE PBL BOOKS! THEY WERE THE BEST BOOKS IN THE WHOLE LIBRARY! I HATE DISNEY CP BECAUSE THEY REMOVED THESE SPECIAL, SPECIAL BOOKS FROM THE BOOK ROOM! THOSE BOOKS TAUGHT SOME PEOPLE HOW TO TYPE PROPERLY! HOW DARE THEY DO THIS? TELL THEM TO BRING THEM BACK NOW!

    • Ah good times. Personally today I just went to the book room to play it but I noticed they weren’t there. I just liked the game for the fun of it, I remember when I was bored I first played it back in 07. I wasn’t a good typer so I typed pretty slow {other than now I’m a fast typer} but it did help me learn how to type and type faster also it helped me with spelling.
But you can’t just order Disney to bring them back obiviously they took them out for a reason and we may not all like it but there’s nothing we can do.

  16. Out of the 1867 days I have played on Club Penguin, this is RIDICULOUS!!!
I’m going to ask them if they can make another typing game. Just like paint by letters.

  17. I think they should have kept them. I personally enjoyed them. They could’ve just promoted them more. Nobody reads the other books anyway so i dont see why it was such a problem to keep them.

  18. really? i dont even wanna play club penguin anymore! it was fun, with the hidden coins and the actually typing. big mistake club penguin, put it back >:(

  19. I was surprised that I couldn’t find the Paint By Letters books in the library on Club Penguin. Although it doesn’t distribute enough coins to users, and I type fast and efficient enough, it was still fun to type out the story. I know disney is trying to make Club Penguin more appealing to younger users from what they think they know, but they aren’t very considerate about what users ACTUALLY liked. Ya, ya, it’s just simple books. Well Club Penguin is a simple website filled with simple games and simple details. I wouldn’t be surprised if disney totally changes the website to PrincessBarbie.com. Just bring back the books. What was the reason to take them away? There still is space in the library for thoughs books. Thoughs books were the only ones I ever read. Honestly, for me, the other books were lame and pointless. Paint by Letters had meaning; possibly giving younger users the experience to type for the first time. Just give the peepz what they want. it’s not like disney is going broke anytime soon. :/
