On This Day In Club Penguin History – January 31

By / January 31, 2016

On the 31st of January Club Penguin has only updated the game in 2013. That year Club Penguin released their February Penguin Style, the wig icons in inventory were updated, login screens advertising the Hollywood Party were added, and Club Penguin updated their merchandise page. Also, while not an in-game update, the Puffle Wild app was updated on this day in 2015.

The February 2013 Penguin Style is an interesting one. Several days before its release a sneak peek of the following cover was posted on the Club Penguin Blog. People were questioning the gender and outfit of the penguin, thus causing a lot of controversy, so Club Penguin ended up deleting the blog post.

It doesn’t stop there. When the catalogue was released in-game a few days after the sneak peak was originally posted, it had a different penguin on the cover, as shown below. The wig on the original cover (above) was nowhere to be found in the catalogue.

Aside from the controversy, a notable update in this catalogue was a new look for the “Your coins:” area. As for the main theme of the February 2013 Penguin Style, it was star fashion to go along with the upcoming Hollywood Party.

Besides the new clothing catalogue there was another item related update. Club Penguin changed the look of wig icons in inventories. Aside from that minor update there were also two other small updates. Two Hollywood Party login screens were released and Club Penguin updated the toys page on their website and renamed it to “products”.

Finally, while not an in-game update, Club Penguin did update their now defunct Puffle Wild application back in 2015. It was updated to version 1.2. The update came with the ability to release your puffles back into the wild from the app, supported using the blue crystal puffle, and also had some bug fixes and performance optimisations.

I miss the old days when CP release crazy items, items that humans don’t use usually. Now they release items that imitate humans, I hate that. It is Club Penguin not Club Human!

I didn’t mind the wig, it just looked like boy’s hair but the outfit was a girl’s style.
Put it with boy clothes and there wouldn’t have been any problem.
