What I see from the machine is the meteorite, of course, but also a giant chess piece? I also see a plug, meaning this is likely a hoax for where the real meteorite is at, but the real one is still powering this machine. I’d say this is the Shrink Ray Of Doom ;)

an old alarm clock, an old telephone with an old joystick under it, a grid like a map, a puffle helmet in the front corner similar to the one he used before but with mini satellite dishes…
Kidnap a puffle, put the helmet on it and send it somewhere (moving it with the joystick), using the old telephone to tell it what to do? Synchronized with the alarm clock of course.
Gary said the solution was in the past and Herbert’s machine bits are all old.
