On This Day In Club Penguin History – September 8

By / September 8, 2015

On the 8th of September Club Penguin has updated in 2006 and also in 2011. In 2006 a new igloo upgrades catalogue was released and in 2011 Club Penguin released a new pin, a new furniture catalogue, and they also began advertising their upcoming Puffle Launch app.
On this day in 2006 the blue Split Level Igloo was released. It cost 4,600 coins, a price that has remained the same for this item. Overall though, the prices of igloos have gone down. Years ago new igloos were always 2,500 – 5,000 coins. Nowadays new igloos are either free or 2,500 coins or less. There was no new furniture catalogue – it was released a week later, so stay tuned for the post on that!

The first update in 2011 was a new pin. The Balloon Bunch Pin, Club Penguin’s 178th pin overall, was hidden at the Forest. This is the sixth pin to be hidden in that room.

Also in 2011 the furniture catalogue for the month was released. It contained fair-themed furniture.

The rest of the 2011’s updates have to do with mobile. Club Penguin was getting ready to release their first mobile app, Puffle Launch, for iOS. They added a new login screen, a mobile apps page, and also released a Puffle Launch app trailer. The homepage was also updated to advertise the upcoming release of the app. The app was released a week later on September 15th and the Android version was released several weeks after that.
