On This Day In Club Penguin History – September 18

On the 18th of September Club Penguin updated in 2009 and 2014. In 2009 the igloo and furniture catalogues were updated and in 2014 the School & Skate Party began, the Skatepark room was now open, a new pin was hidden, and a new magazine issue was now available in the UK.

While it was not yet October, the Jack O’ Lantern igloo was re-released in the September 2009 Igloo Catalogue. That was the only change in the igloo catalogue for that month. As for that month’s furniture catalogue, it featured some back to school items as well as a few items relating to the Fair and other miscellaneous things. Here is a page from the catalogue:

The biggest update in 2014 was the beginning of that month’s party, the School and Skate Party, which Rookie was waddling around for. You had to go on a mini scavenger hunt at the School and pick up school supplies in exchange for some free items. This was also a charity event as Club Penguin built some schools in Ecuador, Haiti, and India. That’s the school aspect of the party. The other part, the skate part, took place at the all new Skatepark room. When the room was released it didn’t contain the Sports Catalogue – it was added after the fact. The School & Skate Party was also when the Puffle Berry Mall made its first appearance.

Another update in 2014 was a new pin. The Lemon Pin, Club Penguin’s 287th pin overall, was hidden at the Ski Hill. It is the eighth pin to be hidden in that room.

The final update on this day in 2014 was a new issue of Club Penguin’s magazine in the United Kingdom and Republic of Ireland. This was the 35th issue and its theme was school.
