On This Day In Club Penguin History – July 25

Today’s ‘On This Day In Club Penguin History’ will bring us back to 2008, 2013, and 2014. On this day in 2008 the first ever Music Jam party began. DJ3K, which has since been released by SoundStudio, was also released. 2013 marked the beginning of the Star Wars Takeover, a new pin, and a new issue of Club Penguin’s magazine. In 2014 a new free item was available at that year’s Music Jam event.

At the 2008 Music Jam all players could go to the Cove and pick up the Maracas, a returning item. They could also collect a brand new item, the Music Jam T-Shirt, at the Plaza. Members could access the special Backstage room, located at the Dock, which contained a special music instruments catalogue. There was also a booth with items (including the VIP pass that members needed to access the Backstage) at the Snow Forts. At the Music Jam the performance stage at the Dock changed to a new theme every day. The 2008 Music Jam is also notable for being the first party where you could actually meet the Penguin Band.

The other update in 2008 was the launch of a brand new game, DJ3K. When it was first released you couldn’t purchase extra tracks from the game upgrades catalogue, nor could you save tracks to use as igloo music. You simply made music and earned coins for it.

Moving on from 2008 and onward to 2013, that year there was a new pin and the Star Wars Takeover was released. The 20th issue of Club Penguin’s magazine was released in the UK, too.

To access the Star Wars Takeover you had to go to the Dock and board the Millennium Falcon spaceship. It would take you to outer space. At first you could only go to Tatooine area, as the Death Star and Yavin 4 areas were unlocked later. In Tatooine you could play a game in which you battle stormtroopers and would earn items for defeating them. Members also had the option to battle other players with Lightsabers and unlock items as a reward. Darth Herbert was the mascot attending this party.

The new pin released in 2013 was the R2-D2 Pin. This pin is Club Penguin’s 250th pin and was the tenth pin to be hidden at the Pizza Parlour.

Finally for 2013, the new magazine issue in the UK was about Rookie’s Jokes and also talked about the Star Wars Takeover as well as the EPF.

The final year year an update on the 25th of July is 2014. A new free item was available at the Music Jam. Players could now collect Zendaya’s giveaway background.
