Merry Christmas! Oh wait, wrong holiday. Happy Halloween! Club Penguin’s 10th Halloween Party has been released, and it is seriously epic. The whole island is decorated in a spooky manner and there is a fun quest at the haunted Puffle Hotel. The quest is also available on mobile.
Table of Contents:
The main downside of the quest at this year’s party is that Club Penguin brought back the thing where you can only do so much, then you have to log on other days for more when it’s released. To get started on the quest go to the Plaza and enter the Haunted Puffle Hotel. Chances are you’ll start out in this room with Gary talking to you.
Gadzooks! My great uncle Gariwald is lost in the Puffle Hotel and it’s teeming with ghosts! What happened in there?!
Can you search the hotel for Gariwald? Maybe that new bellhop can be of assistance.
The bellhop’s name is Skip.
Hi! Hope I didn’t spook you. I’m Skip, the bellhop. I just started here and all this creepy stuff’s happening!
You’re looking for Gariwald? We gotta get power back to the elevator. I think the generator’s in the Basement.
Go to the basement. There’s an open trapdoor on the right side of the Puffle Hotel’s lobby. Skips will continue to talk to you in the top right corner of your screen next to the Mod icon, where a special icon for the party is. If you go to the elevator without turning on the power Skips will talk to you.
Once you’re in the basement you will see three power levers. Keep clicking them until you solve the puzzle to turn the power back on.
You’ll know when the power is back on because all three levers will be pointing upward and turn from red to green.
Skip will again talk to you. Not only that, but you’ll also spot your first Ghost Puffle!
Search the hotel. Check out the storage room on floor 12 first.
Ahh! Ghost puffles! Be careful!
That machine look (typo, it should be looks!) like Gariwald’s ghost catcher. But it’s missing pieces!
Do you think we could use it to stop the nasty ghost puffles? Then maybe we’ll find Gariwald.
That’s what they’re hiding! Pieces from the ghost catcher upstairs!
If we collect al the pieces, we’ll be able to stop this scary haunting stuff.
You’ll then need to go to floor four.
The puzzle for floor four is:
Thirteen fires block this floor. Douse them all to breach the door.
How do you do it? The same way you do a lot of tasks on Club Penguin – throw snowballs!
Once you extinguish all thirteen fires the door will open. Then you can collect the piece that was locked.
Unfortunately, for now the quest ends here. You have to log back on each day for more puzzles and items. If you already got the piece and complete the puzzle again you’ll get 50 coins each time.
In the meantime you can get haunted luggage if you’re a nonmember and wings if you’re a member.
Be sure to check out the rest of the island! Unfortunately many of the rooms use the same designs as last year, and they didn’t decorate the Dance Club either. :[
There are three special emotes for the party. There’s the vampire fangs, a pumpkin, and a ghost.
Overall, the quest seems cool, fun, and a bit challenging based on the initial little bit I could do. I am not a fan of the logging on every few days to do more, however I can appreciate the fact that Club Penguin even has quests. I am also disappointed by lack of new decorations in rooms, as a lot of it was reused from prior years. Are we ever going to see a new Night of the Living Sled? What about a quest + scavenger hunt for candy next year? Also, new rooms added this year, namely the Puffle Park and Skatepark, aren’t even decorated at all – the team just made it night time and nothing else. Would it kill them to add at least a few pumpkins? Same with returning the Monster Maker room or Haunted Mansion. I personally rate this party a 6/10. Maybe by the end of the party the Puffle Hotel’s quest will raise it a bit more.
