Club Penguin Removes Russian and German Languages
It’s September 2nd, the day Club Penguin said they would be removing the Russian and German languages of Club Penguin. Gone they are, as they are no longer available in the language selection screen.
Going to a webpage on Club Penguin’s website in Russian or German redirects you to a page.
The text reads: (rough translation)
Thank you for belonging to the great Club Penguin community and for your continued business with us.
Club Penguin in German is now closed. You are, however, invited to login with your existing penguin accounts in other languages.
RIP.
A moment of silence for CP’s fallen languages, Russian and German. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfQpCbvO02g

Oh, and that song you just posted on Twitter. :P
:P your comment inspired my tweet, lol.
This is perhaps the worst decision CP has done. People who only knew Russian and/or German wouldn’t be able to enjoy CP in the other languages at least for the moment. Some would try to learn but still, it won’t be the same. Some would probably even quit, thus reducing more the number of players.
OH, BUT WHO CARES. LET’S ADD MORE CP APP EXCLUSIVES.
CP hasn’t had app exclusives in ages. :p
Phineas, you’re the voice of reason
are they just supposed to use Google translate or something now? :/
Google Translate only works for the HTML part, not the in-game part as it is Flash. This is sad for those people. But maybe German and russian weren’t playing much so CP decided to close the servers. So I think CP MAY have done the right thing. Servers cost money and if they are not being used…
