I recommend you go onto a crowded server for the most penguins, switching rooms every little while.

Over time the white squares will light up on the path to become a director to show your progress. You have to manually open the progress bar, it does not pop up every time you earn an item. Eventually, after taking hundreds of pictures you’ll get all the items. I managed to do it in a little over an hour at today’s Album Release Field Friday, the whole time, for an hour, I took pictures of stars just to get all the items. Basically, it just takes a while to get every item. You’ll need patience. Even if it seems like the thing isn’t moving, you just need to take more pictures. Both I and other penguins have done it, and you can too. As far as I’m aware logging off does not affect your progress.
