Club Penguin Blog: Coins for Change Project: Saiga Conservation Alliance

By / January 20, 2016

Last week Surfa Siss made her first ever post on Club Penguin’s blog. Surfa is the corporate citizenship program director for Disney.

Here’s the blog post she made about Coins For Change:

Hi Penguins!

Great job supporting this year’s Coins For Change! I’m Surfa Siss, the Corporate Citizenship Program Director – in other words, I help find ways to inspire audiences to make a difference through signature programs like Club Penguin’s Coins For Change, It Starts With You Online Safety and Disney wide Citizenship programs!

I thought you’d like to learn more about some of the amazing projects we’re supporting this year. One project is with Saiga Conservation Alliance, they help protect the endangered saiga antelope. This cool looking animal has not changed since the ice age when mammoths and sabre tooth tigers roamed the earth!

I met Elena Bykova who is an amazing conservationist helping to protect this unique looking animal. She works with kids and adults in Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Russia, Mongolia and Kazakhstan teaching everyone how to protect saiga by looking after their local environment and not hunting saiga.

Here’s a picture of a male Saiga Antelope:

At Club Penguin through the Disney Conservation Fund, we help hundreds of animals around the world. Over the next few days I will share more stories about them and how Coins For Change is helping animals and people.

Are there endangered animals where you live? How do you help them?

Waddle on,

-Surfa Siss
