On This Day In Club Penguin History – December 22

On the 22nd of December Club Penguin has updated in 2005, 2006, 2008, and 2011. In 2005 and 2006 the Christmas Party began, plus in 2006 a new pin was hidden.

In 2005 there was a single update. The first ever Christmas Party! The party had tow free items, the Santa Hat and Christmas Scarf.

In 2006 there were two updates. Just like in 2005 the Christmas Party began, having many more decorations than the party the year prior. The Santa Hat was brought back as a free item for this party. The Santa Beard, a new free item, was also given out.

Also in 2006 Club Penguin released their 22nd pin, the Candy Cane Pin. It was located in the Dance Club. It’s the second pin to have been hidden in that room.

In 2008 the treasure book was updated. It was the second series treasure book that was available at the time. Items like the Candy Cane Scarf and Keytar (Polo Field’s favourite!) were in it. Also on this day in 2008 Rockhopper departed from Club Penguin. The final update in 2008 was six new servers being added. They were Northern Lights, Southern Lights, Ice Shelf, Ascent, Snowcap and Snowmobile.

The final year with updates on this day in 2011. The Deck the Halls Igloo Contest started and there was a new field op mission. At the Deck The Halls Igloo Contest 20 grand prize winners would win 50,000 coins. 20 Runner-Ups would win 25,000 coins. All you had to do was decorate your igloo with a holiday theme and submit it to Club Penguin for judging. As for the field op, it was the 61st one. This mission took place in the EPF Command Room. The mini-game to complete it was to enter directions for the repair bot to follow.
